The required contents, verbatim
“FSEs shall obtain and maintain a copy of the waste hauler’s documentation which shall include:”
| Required line | Why the city wants it | What a bad receipt does instead |
|---|---|---|
| Name of the hauling company | Accountability for the waste | Generic “service” invoice, no hauler |
| Name and signature of the operator performing the pump-out | A person attests to the work | Unsigned, or signed by the office |
| Documentation of a full pump-out indicating total volume of water and FOG removed in gallons | Proves it was not a skim | “Cleaned” with no gallons |
| The percentage level of combined FOG and solids before service | Your 25%-rule compliance record | No reading at all |
| Whether repairs to the interceptor are required | Early warning for failed tees and baffles | Silence |
| Identification of the facility where the waste was taken | Closes the loop on illegal dumping | Nothing — the waste “went away” |
How to use this
Hand this page to any vendor who quotes you and ask whether their receipt carries all six. Ours does by design. Then file every sheet in the three-year file — the ordinance makes you keep hauling records and manifests on the premises and show them on request.
One more thing the chapter says
The waste must go “by a licensed waste hauler to an approved recycling or disposal site.” Haulers discharging at Stockton’s Regional Wastewater Control Facility pay $37.86 per 1,000 gallons plus $80 per trip (FY 2026-27 fee schedule), which is why a quote dramatically below market is usually a quote that skips the facility.
